In addition to practical hands-on management of salmon fishing, shoots and stillwater fisheries, John was formerly Fieldsports Correspondent for Scottish Field magazine, contributed widely to the sporting press and is the author of a comprehensive guide to shooting in Scotland entitled The Best Shooting in Scotland;. His own production company - Silverstream Films and TV Productions has produced several very popular shooting and fishing programmes, which have been broadcast on UK television and which have gone on general release in video form.
