We have long-standing leases on several large private estates in Scotland where parties of up to 15 guests may be accomodated in the " big hoose " of the estate. This type of accomodation for sporting parties ranges from imposing ancient castles to rambling Victorian sporting lodges, originally built for a variety of noble earls, dukes and assorted aristocracy. Such estates may offer a wonderful mix of sport - river and loch salmon and trout fishing which may be combined in the appropriate season with deerstalking, grouse, pheasant and most other forms of gameshooting. This type of accomodation and sport is usually let by the week. Although these weeks take place in quite salubrious surroundings, the whole atmosphere is very friendly and informal. Usually there are some places on these lodge parties for individuals, couples, families or groups of friends.

Happily, most of these sporting estate buildings have been renovated to a very high standard of comfort, with full central heating and loads of hot water . The cuisine is normally to a high country house hotel standard, designed to please the palette and provide fuel for country sport exertions !
