John Andrews Fieldsports are registered firearms dealers in Scotland and we are therefore able to provide on hire any form of appropriate stalking rifle or shotgun that a guest may require and to supply rifle or shotgun ammunition as necessary. If required the company will act as sponsor and apply for the appropriate Visitors Shotgun or Firearms Permit from the Police Authority to allow overseas clients to bring their own weapons into the UK. In addition, if required, the company will deal with the appropriate licensing to allow overseas guests to bring their own weapons into the UK. Should clients wish to purchase sporting arms, in addition to its own stock, the company will undertake a search for the appropriate weapon. Quality British guns a speciality.
Fishing Tackle
The company holds a stock of fly and spinning rods and reels, (mostly by Hardy Bros of Alnwick) suitable for Scottish conditions, which are available for hire. All other tackle, including a range of company tied specialist salmon and trout flies, may be purchased.
Gundogs:
On most shooting occasions the appropriate trained dogs are supplied as part of the package and are usually readily available. Those wishing to partake of the aesthetic traditional sport of shooting over pointers and setters should preferably book a year ahead, as usually these dogs and their handlers are thin on the ground these days.
Guests may, of course, bring their own gundogs but these must be appropriately under control.
John Andrews himself is an long experienced gundog enthusiast and will undertake commissions to supply fully trained and young gundogs of most breeds.
